This is the 2nd palm for this weeks Heathcote Palms. This Chamaedorea microspadix or, Hardy Bamboo Palm is a large clumping, and has straight, deep green stems that resemble bamboo shoots. The stems are up to 1.5" in diameter, and the leaves are pinnate and lancelote, like the more common Cat Palm.
Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.
