Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.

Phalaenopsis Gold Coin
This Phalaenopsis Gold Coin has 2 spikes 1 has 2 open blooms and many more to come. The second shot if you click on it the name that came with it is unreadable to me. So if you can translate it please fill me in. Here are a few shots of it now.
I've been looking through all your orchid photos and oh my they are wonderful. What is the trick to growing orchids? I love them but have never really tried to grow them and I probably should given they do seem to like Florida. Any tips? Meems @ HoeandShovel
Beautiful! I'm so jealous that you can hang your orchids from trees year round. Mine only get to go outside in the summer and they get cranky and don't do much for the fall/winter/spring under lights.
