My friend Timmy who is a yardman called me today and said that he was on a job and the man wanted this palm removed. He asked me of I wanted it. I said Heck Ya. So he dropped it off at about noon. I got home from work at 4:30 and started my hole. an hour later I have a new 15ft clustering fishtail palm in my yard. This thing was so heavy it took 4 of us to pick it up and move it. This cluster contains 8 large fat trunks and at least that many smaller trunks growing. I am so excited about my new Caryota mitis or clustering fishtail palm.
Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.
