Today I received in the mail some seeds that I purchased on 12/18/07. They were sent from Maung Phuket Thailand so the wait was understandable. I ordered 10 and received 11Tersmannia altifrons, the Joey Palm, which is 1 of my favorites and ordered 20 and got 46* score, Hyophorbe lagenicaulis, Bottle Palms. They also came along with a Phytosanitary Certificate. The best part of the whole situation is the man wrapped the joey seeds in a wet paper towel and then sealed them in a container wrapped in plastic wrap. When I opened the package to my surprise 3 of the seeds had already begun to germinate. Double Score!
Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.
