Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.

Help w/ Orchid ID.. Update.. Doritis pulcherrima var. chumporensis
Over the weekend I found a few pretty sweet deals. One of the finds was this Phalaenopsis orchid with a mini bright yellow and white flower. I am not sure the name of this one, but if you do please fill me in. Here are the pictures of the orchid.
Beautiful peloric phal! I haven't ever seen anything like it so I can't help with the ID, but it looks unique enough that you might get some ideas. You could always post a picture or a link here from garden web's orchid forum - that group has a ton of knowledge...
I enjoy my visits here so much. It is so different than my town. We have the Rock River s short distance away, so we see lots of different birds and plants....but nothing like this. I've never been to Florida...so this visit is really fun. The orchid is beautiful. I have always been drawn to the orchids with tiny blooms but I haven't tried growing them. Maybe one day.
Wow. That's . . . wow. No idea on a name.
