Tonight I planted 40 Caryota mitis of Fishtail Palm seeds that I collected the other day. They have gone through a 3 day hot soak and cleaning. These were collected off the ground so I am not sure how fresh they are but they all sank so hopefully I will have a good germination rate. I will keep you up to date on any new sprouts from these guys. This is a shot from the mom.
Well being born in a paradise like I was here in South Florida I have always taken all of my tropical plants and palms around me for granted. Just recently realizing how lucky I am. I'm going to take full advantage of this tropical climate. This blog is going to show all of my trials and tribulations with growing different species of plants and trees. Feel free to check back regularly and watch my plants grow.

That is an interesting palm. I love palms they are so similar but all different. Good luck on your seeds!
